Men's dry skin: how to truly moisturize it
Dry skin is one of the most underestimated skincare problems among men. Many think that dry skin just means "a little dryness," but the reality is that dry skin leads to a cascade of problems: irritation, sensitivity, visible peeling, accelerated aging, and a dull, lackluster complexion.
What causes dry skin?
Genetics: Some men are simply born with naturally dry skin.
Climate: Cold, dry, or windy environments strip moisture from the skin. Winter is particularly harsh on dry skin.
Heating and air conditioning: These reduce air humidity, dehydrating the skin.
Hot showers and baths: Hot water opens pores and causes excessive evaporation of the skin's natural moisture.
Harsh cleansers: If you use harsh soap on your face, you're stripping your skin of its natural protective oils.
The perfect skincare routine for dry skin
Step 1: Gentle cleansing (morning and evening)
Do not use hot water. Do not use soap. Use a creamy cleanser specifically formulated for dry and sensitive skin.
Step 2: Hydrating toner (optional but recommended)
A humectant-rich toner can provide a first layer of hydration.
Step 3: Hydrating serum (recommended)
For dry skin, a humectant-rich serum is wonderful. Hyaluronic acid is the best.
Step 4: Rich moisturizer (essential)
You need a rich, nourishing moisturizer. Not a light gel, but a thick cream with emollients.
