Pimples and Acne in Men: Skincare That Really Works

Men's pimples and acne: the skincare that really works

Men's pimples and acne: the skincare that really works

If you think acne is just a teenage problem, you're wrong. Adult acne affects many men, caused by stress, hormones, poor skincare, or all of the above. But unlike adolescent acne, adult acne often seems more stubborn and requires a more specific and scientific approach.

Types of acne: what are you actually fighting?

Comedonal acne (non-inflammatory): Blackheads and whiteheads. Caused by pores clogged with sebum and dead skin cells.

Inflammatory acne: Red pimples, pustules, papules. The pore is clogged and inflamed, often due to the presence of bacteria.

Cystic acne: The most severe pimples. They are large, deeply embedded in the skin, and very painful. This is the form of acne that requires medical intervention.

Ingredients that actually work against acne

Salicylic acid (BHA): The MVP ingredient for comedonal acne. Effective concentration: 0.5-2%.

Benzoyl peroxide: Excellent for inflammatory acne because it kills the bacteria that cause pimples. Concentration: 2.5-10%.

Azelaic acid: Has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Concentration: 15-20%.

Niacinamide: Regulates sebum production, reduces inflammation. Concentration: 4-5%.
